Our equipment capability
Zhejiang Holip Intelligent Frequency Conversion Technology Research Institute covers 3,200 m2 and boasts of an array of the most advanced R&D and testing equipment worth 41 million Yuan, which strongly backs the development of new technologies and new products as key factors. Dedicated to technical innovation, the institute continues increasing its investments into high-end equipment to follow the footstep of the Industry 4.0 strategy of China.
Applying stringent international standards, Holip testing center won the CTDP laboratory certification, which is one of the highest grades of UL, an American organization engaging in the formulation of global safety regulations and standards, testing and certification. This makes Holip an early Chinese frequency converter manufacturer to bring in the CTDP laboratory. This means that Holip is capable of conducting UL standard safety tests in its own laboratory, with test results accepted by the international markets that includes the American market.
Our hi-tech innovation achievement
Zhejiang Holip Intelligent Frequency Conversion Technology Research Institute always adheres to the strategy of independent innovation and pushes forward technical innovation and commercialization by implementing development projects of new products and new technologies. Since the very first day, the institute has presided over and accomplished 31 scientific research projects above the provincial level, which include 2 projects of the National Torch Program, 1 project of the National Key New Products and 28 projects of the Provincial New Product Trial Production Program. Besides, it has applied for 45 intellectual property rights of various types, including 6 patents for inventions, 15 patents for utility models, 15 patents for designs and 24 licenses of software copyrights.
When holding on to independent development, the institute has established constructive cooperation with domestic and overseas higher educational institutions, world famous experts and top international enterprises via all sorts of technical exchanges and cooperation to lead innovative factors at Holip. On the basis of technical cooperation and exchange, it carries out in-depth industry-university-research cooperation with higher educational institutions and scientific research institutes including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Aalborg University of Denmark, Shanghai Electric Tool Research Institute and Tianjin Electric Drive Research Institute to jointly develop new frequency conversion technologies and new products. The institute’s cooperation model featuring multiple channels and multiple levels of technical exchanges plays a crucial role in the improvement of Holip’s independent innovation capability, commercialization of research achievements as well as the development and application of key technologies of key industries.
Our development goal
The construction of Holip’s Intelligent Frequency Conversion Technology Research Institute aims to promote the Chinese frequency converter industry to develop healthily and always maintains the products’ core competitiveness, high quality and high performance. With core and key technologies centering on the future development trends of frequency converters, the institute has brought forward three major directions for technical development – “high power density and high performance”, “intelligent and networked” and “modular and capable of secondary development”. It has always been upholding the strategy and guideline of “taking innovation and digitalization as the enterprise’s DNA.” It releases new products depending on advanced technologies and R&D power to make unremitting effort to boost the innovation and development of the frequency converter industry.
The DNA of innovation roots in the development of Holip. Holip’s Intelligent Frequency Conversion Technologies Research Institute will definitely become a vigorous driving force for the technical innovation of Holip.
Thumbs up for the glorious development of Holip!
Let’s learn something new ( ̄︶ ̄)↗
Underwriters Laboratories is one of the most famous safety testing organizations in the world and an independent non-profit third-party certification organization that conducts experiments for public safety. Its UL certification is a safety testing certification that is recognized most widely across the world. Products with UL safety certification are highly reputed in the international market. In international markets including America, some products uncertified by UL even cannot be sold over the counter or insured by insurance companies.
Client Test Data Program (CTDP) is one of the highest phase accredited by UL. The test data can only be accepted and finally recognized by CTDP laboratory after going through a series of rigorous steps including preliminary application, onsite Witnessed Test Data Program (WTDP) of American UL engineers and the American UL engineers’ review of self-designed test schemes for different working conditions. Therefore, a few UL certified enterprises have merely made it through the preliminary phase of UL certification, namely WTDP. Holip is one of the first Chinese frequency converter enterprises to win the CTDP certification.

Holip produces more than 100,000 drives in a month
In March, our factory in Haiyan, China, produced more than 100,000 drives. “No Danfoss Drives site has ever produced 100,000 drives in a month, so this is a fantastic achievement by our team in Haiyan,” says Thorbjørn U. Hansen, Vice President Global Operations.
The output for Vacon brand was about 15000 units in March, the output for Danfoss brand was about 70000 units in March, increased by +40% compared to last year. Holip brand also increased by +10% compared to last year in March.
Celebration of 2 million Micro Drives
On April 11th, our factory in Holip reached another milestone: the production of the 2 millionth Micro Drive. The Micro Drive was the first Danfoss brand drive developed in Beijing and produced in Haiyan. Since it was launched onto the market in 2007, the sales curve has been consistently upward. “The FC51 has not only been a successful product after launch, but was also the perfect tool and clear first target for establishing R&D and production in China for Danfoss Drives since 2005. The good cooperation we have today between the R&D team in Beijing and Supply Chain in Haiyan was literally build around the first production line for FC51 at 2:00AM on December 30, 2006 when the first FC51 Micro Drive was released” says Bo Holst, Head of R&D China.
We celebrated 1 million in 2013, and now another 1 million have been produced within three years. This is a fantastic milestone and the 2 millionth drive was painted a golden color to commemorate this moment. All employees in supply chain shared this momentous occasion with delicious cakes.
“It really has been an amazing journey to have been with this product from the pilot stage to the production of the 2 millionth drive. Now we are launching more and more new products in Haiyan, and I am looking forward to creating more milestones with our outstanding team. The two concepts `win with quality´ and ‘safety first’ will always be the foundation for our future journey,” says Jenny (Ye Meizhen), Senior Director of Operations Haiyan.
David Lu, Vice President Head of SMS DDS China & general manager of Holip, says:” It is a great honor to receive this special golden drive, which takes me back to the end of 2006 when we were all working very hard to send the first shipment out of the factory. The FC51 was the first product designed and manufactured in China, and 2 million units in 10 years is no doubt a great achievement. I would like to thank Bo Holst, Jenny, and all our other colleagues who have put all their efforts into this, and not forgetting our customers who have always supported us.”
